Privacy Policy

My IP Is ("we", "us") operates the website at myipis.sh. This tool exists to show you your own IP address and connection details, so we designed it to collect as little as possible. This policy explains what we handle and why.

Information we process

When you visit the site, your device's public IP address is part of every request — that's simply how the internet works. We use it, in real time, to:

• display your IP address back to you;
• look up an approximate location (typically city/region) and your internet provider, using a database (MaxMind GeoLite2) stored locally on our own server.

These lookups happen on our server; your IP address is not sent to MaxMind or any other third party to do them. We do not create accounts, and the application does not store, log, or sell your IP address after answering your request. We also parse your browser's User-Agent string to show your browser and operating system — this is read from the request and not stored.

Server logs

Like most websites, our hosting layer may keep short-lived access logs that can include IP addresses, timestamps, and requested URLs. These are used only for security, abuse prevention, and troubleshooting, are rotated regularly, and are not used to build a profile of you or shared for marketing.

Cookies

The site itself does not set tracking cookies and does not use analytics that identify you. If we display advertising (see below), our advertising partners may set their own cookies as described in the next section.

Advertising

We may show ads through Google AdSense to help cover hosting costs. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies or device identifiers to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our and other sites.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You can learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites, and review Google's own Privacy Policy.

If you are in a region that requires consent for advertising cookies (such as the EEA or UK), you will be asked for your choice, and personalized ads will only be used with your consent.

Third-party services

We rely on a small number of third parties: Google AdSense for advertising, and a locally hosted copy of the MaxMind GeoLite2 databases for geolocation. We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Children's privacy

This site is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll revise the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
